FIBC Filling Station

The FIBC Filling Station is a heavy-duty, fully engineered solution for fast, accurate and dust-controlled filling of bulk bags.

Size Reduction – Milling and Sifting

The FIBC Filling Station is a heavy-duty, fully engineered solution for fast, accurate and dust‑controlled filling of bulk bags (big bags) with powders, granules and pellets. Designed for demanding processing environments, it provides reliable, repeatable filling performance while improving operator safety and overall plant efficiency.

Overview

This filling station is designed to handle large and small FIBCs in various shapes and is optimised for manual, semi-automatic, or fully automated operation to fit your throughput needs. The use of a rigid support frame and an integrated weigh platform with controlled product infeed ensures that every bag is filled to the appropriate target weight, with minimal giveaway and superb stability for handling and storage.

Key features

The station is equipped with a height-adjustable support frame and heavy-duty bag hooks, enabling easy, ergonomic hanging of empty bags and subsequent filling. A filling spout clamp, which is inflatable or mechanically sealed, is firmly fastened to the inlet of the FIBC to provide a dust-tight fit, and, where necessary, bag inflation helps it shape before product is added.

A weighing system, comprised of a number of load cells and a weight controller, continuously measures the weight of the bags during the filling cycle. Coarse/fine (bulk and dribble) feed control enables a fast bulk fill, followed by a slow, precise top-up stage as the target weight is approached, providing accurate product feed to a high degree and minimising product losses.

Options and integrations

To achieve bag stability and maximise filling density, the station can be equipped with a vibrating or densification table that compresses the product during bag filling. Other possibilities would be pallet dispensers, slip-sheet applicators, infeed and outfeed roller conveyors, dust extraction interfaces, and connections to an upstream feeder, screw conveyors, or a pneumatic conveying system.

Hygiene-sensitive or dusty work can be serviced with enclosed or fully skirted designs, in-built filters, and extraction points to keep the working environment clean and protect operators. Control is via a PLC with an intuitive HMI that supports various recipes, automatic cycle sequencing, and easy integration with existing plant control architectures.

Benefits for your process

By automating the FIBC filling process, the station minimises manual operations, increases filling throughput, and reduces labour costs. Proper weighing and product flow control reduce giveaway, minimise product loss, and ensure that every bag is within customer specifications. The mechanical design, with low-maintenance parts, provides long-term reliability and a low total cost of ownership.
