Gravimetric feeding is a high-precision, closed-loop dosing system that controls the flow of bulk solid ingredients, such as powders or granules, based solely on their weight (mass), rather than their volume, using load cells to continuously monitor the dispensed material’s mass. This approach is critical because it compensates automatically for variations in the ingredient’s bulk density, ensuring exceptional accuracy and maintaining a constant mass flow rate (e.g., kg/h) to guarantee consistent product quality, precise adherence to recipes, and effective cost control by preventing the over-feeding of expensive materials, commonly utilised in processes like continuous mixing or batching.
